Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SkillForge ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SkillForge is a SaaS platform that processes screen recordings and video URLs to extract workflow documentation and training materials. The Service analyzes videos and generates structured skill guides, training documents, and procedural documentation.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Content and Permissions

4.1 Uploaded Content

When you upload a screen recording or submit a video URL, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the content or have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit it
  • The content does not violate any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • You have obtained any necessary consents from individuals appearing in the recordings
  • The content complies with all applicable laws and regulations

4.2 URL Processing

When submitting video URLs (YouTube, Loom, Vimeo, etc.), you specifically confirm that:

  • You have the right to process the content at the submitted URL
  • The video is either yours, publicly shared for educational use, or you have the creator's permission
  • You comply with the source platform's Terms of Service

Important: Source videos downloaded from URLs are automatically deleted after processing. Only the extracted skill data (workflow steps, screenshots, documentation) is retained.

4.3 User-Generated Skills

You retain ownership of the skills and documentation generated from your content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or process content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Violate any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights
  • Submit content containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or derive source code from the Service
  • Abuse rate limits or attempt to overload our systems
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Service Limitations

The Service is subject to the following limitations:

  • File uploads: Maximum 200 MB per file
  • URL submissions: Maximum 60 minutes duration, 2 GB file size, 10 URLs per hour per user
  • Processing time may vary based on video length and complexity
  • We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Uploaded videos: Stored securely during processing, deleted after skill extraction completes
  • URL-sourced videos: Downloaded temporarily, automatically deleted after processing
  • Extracted skills: Retained indefinitely unless you delete them
  • Screenshots and keyframes: Stored as part of the skill documentation

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by SkillForge and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKILLFORGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which SkillForge operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
